Valpolicella Ripasso
(Good to Very Good)
A light red wine from Valpolicella

Summary

An increasingly popular wine style, where basic Valpolicella wine is run over unpressed Amarone or Recioto skins providing extract and increased alcohol to the wine. Up to 15% of Amarone wine may additionally be added, creating a relatable wine at a more affordable price point. Finished wine must have a minimum of 12.5% abv and aged for one year before release. The rapid growth of demand is in part due to the popularity of Amarone.
