Folle Blanche
A white variety, originally from France

Summary

This white grape variety, believed to be a descendant of Gouais Blanc, was once extensively cultivated along the western French Atlantic seaboard, with its neutral wines used mostly for distillation. While there are limited plantings of this grape variety in California and possibly northern Spain, it has never fully regained its former position before the phylloxera outbreak in Europe.
