Clairette
A white variety, originally from France

Summary

Lightly pigmented grape that is most often used in blends, although single varietal dry, sparkling and fortified wines are also made. The variety oxidizes very rapidly, and, due to sugar accumulation and low acidity, can make out of balance wines if harvest is not carefully managed.
