Aligoté
A white variety, originally from France

Summary

Regarded as the lesser-known white grape variety of Burgundy, and often deemed inferior. However, in an exceptional vintage, when optimal ripeness offsets its inherent acidity, this grape boasts its own advocates and has arguably benefited from the effects of climate change. The vine itself is robust and prone to high yields if not managed. Beyond Burgundy, this grape has gained popularity in regions such as Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Russia.
