A black variety, originally from Portugal
Summary
Better known as Tinta Amarela in Port production, it adds concentrated dark fruits to fortified and dry blends. It is difficult in the vineyard (rot, narrow picking time before overripe) but can produce high quality wines that can age in bottle.
