Tinta Barroca
A black variety, originally from Portugal

Summary

One of the most important grapes used in Port production, it tends to be less floral and more earthy than the others, and can be prone to berry shriveling. In dry wine production, it lends complexity to blends but is rarely used as a single varietal.
