Summary

Best know as the key grape for the wines of Bierzo DO, this grape if very sensitive to harvest timing. Acidity drops quickly near the end of ripening so examples can be seen with elevated through lower acidity, and medium through high alcohol. The grape tends to have a more delicate fruit profile which can be overwhelmed by heavy-handed winemaking.
