Victoria

Summary

Administrative state of Australia ranking third in production volume. Better known for its premium wine focus, bulk production is focused around the Murray–darling Basin. Split into six smaller zones, this state lies north of the Bass Strait and features a wide range of climatic conditions, soil types and therefore wine styles. Recent phylloxera outbreaks have led to some vine replanting, giving producers an opportunity to shift to grape-vines better suited to climatic changes and challenges.
