Vacqueyras AOC

Summary

This Southern Rhône cru was upgraded from Côte du Rhône Villages AOC in 1990 for its red, white and rosé wines. High elevations (440m) provide diurnal ranges, and slow grape ripening conditions. For AOC reds, Grenache must be 50% of the blend, alongside at least one (or both) Syrah and/or Mourvèdre. These wines are slightly rustic in style showing power and structural concentration, allowing for extended bottle ageing. White and rosé wine are also made here.
