An important and diverse zone in Australia, which forms part of the South Eastern Australia Zone, and is home to 8 other smaller zones. Known for blending grapes from throughout the area, production accounts for nearly half of the country's volume. Home to some of the country's most famous wine regions, which are characterized by their diverse range of climates and terroirs, and allows a wide variety of grape varieties and wine styles. Most of the vineyards are situated near the southeastern coast helping to mitigate hot temperatures. The centre of a thriving wine tourism industry.
