This white wine focused area within Veneto is distinctly split into two areas, with hillside sites and cool soil in the north alongside flat plains with deep fertile soil in the south. All wines must contain a minimum of 70% Garganega. An area of small growers, cooperatives are important to the industry. Effort towards classifying single vineyard sites may be in response to the challenge of Pinot Grigio’s popularity, helping to reposition the area towards terroir driven wines with higher prices. 80% of production is exported.
