Summary

Area adjacent to Beaujolais with distinct limestone soils supporting acid retention in fruit. This area’s wine production was once referred to as Beaujolais blanc, although today enjoys its own identity with seven communes. Wines typically have more body and ageability compared with Mâcon-Villages wines.
