Rasteau AOC

Summary

This Southern Rhône cru was promoted to AOC in 2010 for its red wines, but also makes a small amount of Vin Doux Naturel. Sites are low (100m), and sit within a warm enclave sheltered from the Mistral wind, and with south facing slopes. Grapes reliably achieve full ripeness here. Concrete fermentations and large oak maturations are commonplace. The final blend must be 50% Grenache with at least one (or both) Syrah and/or Mourvèdre.
