Queensland

Summary

This state in the north-east of Australia, with a rapidly developing wine industry. The generally hot, wet climate, with its high humidity, represents viticultural challenges. The two listed regions offer high altitude sites which act as moderating influences. Early wine production was limited to fortified wines and powerful red table wines.
