Palette AOC

Summary

A near monopolistic and miniature appellation located east of Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence AOC. Famous for a large limestone outcrop near the River Arc which helped to gain its AOC status in 1948. A single 7th generation producer Ch. Simone dominates production within this area. Traditional winemaking is prolific with grapes sourced from old vines, long fermentations and ageing in older oak. Field blends are also common. Production includes bold red and rosé wines, with more modern fresh whites.
