North East Victoria Zone

Summary

This zone within Victoria, is located inland and experiences a continental climate. Diverse terrain and climatic conditions allow for many wine styles to be discovered. The warm flat plains are best suited to the area's fortified wines and bold reds. Grapes grown on cool elevated sites in the foothills of The Great Dividing Range are responsible for the lighter wine styles found. An increasing importance on newly introduced white and black grape varieties, often hailing from Italian or Iberian origins.
