Summary

Southernmost portion of the Central Valley Region with the highest number of vineyard plantings. While its reputation has largely been for inexpensive wines, focus on old vines and dry farming (largely driven by the grower association VIGNO) is gaining the subregion a reputation for interesting and better quality wines. It is particularly associated with Carignan
