Marsannay AOC

Summary

The most northern appellation of the Côte de Nuits. Uniquely having status for red, white and rosé wine styles. This area lies outside of the Morvan Hills protection, and is susceptible to cold northern winds which can damage vines and yields. Red wines are attractive and fruity albeit lighter than those of neighbouring southern appellations. There are no Premier or Grand cru vineyards currently.
