A small appellation located in the west of the Languedoc. Shares a similar climate to the areas in South West France with maritime influences and higher rainfall from its exposure to the Atlantic Ocean. The Hautes-Corbiéres mountain peaks block Mediterranean influences from reaching this area. Limestone and clay soils dominate, and production is mainly red wines made up as a blend of Bordeaux varieties (Minimum 40% Merlot). Rosé wines can also be found here.
