Fitou AOC

Summary

Red wine appellation located in the Languedoc. Situated as two small enclaves within the southern area Corbières AOC and adjacent to Roussillon. Clay and limestone soils are found in the coastal areas contributing to fresher and fruitier styles. Mountainous areas with free draining schist soils are found at inland sites and contribute to increased concentration in wine. The cooperative Mont Tauch is responsible for 50% of the total production volume. Carignan must be a minimum of 10% - 40% with Grenache Noir contributing a minimum of 20% of the final blend.
