Summary
Located east of Saint-Émilion AOC on Bordeaux's right bank, this 1800ha appellation is dedicated to red wine. Calcareous clay soils dominate with sedimentary outcrops. Expressive blended red wines offer less ageing potential compared with its famous neighbours, but provides value pricing while still showing very good quality.
