Clare Valley Region

Summary

Warm area in the northern portion of the Mount Lofty Ranges known for particularly high diurnal ranges. A range of micro-climates are available, as this area has many ridged and valley sites. Drought can be an issue, with many producers choosing to dry-farm. Although often associated with Riesling, this area produces a large amount of Shiraz.
