Chianti Montalbano
Summary
One of Chianti DOCG's sub-zones. Located west of Florence, vineyard sites are planted on the western slopes of a chain of hills, with the overlapping Carmignano DOCG's grapes planted on the eastern slopes. Sunny sites and free-draining sandstone soils contribute to a fruity, light wine style. Chianti wines of the shortest lifespan, and meant to be drunk young.
