Summary
Home to some of the most celebrated Grand Crus and Premier Crus of Burgundy. The Morvan hills and steep south east facing slopes protect vineyards from cold northern winds and encourage ripeness and sugar accumulation in grapes. Small amount of white wine is also produced here. Soils have a high limestone content and vineyards situated on steep south facing slopes which both aid in acid retention and full phenolic ripeness in fruit.
