Atacama Region

Summary

Situated in the far north of Chile, this wine region is extremely arid, and renowned as the driest desert globally. Viticulture primarily thrives along a narrow coastal strip, where the presence of water resources and the cooling ocean breezes from the Pacific Ocean enable grape cultivation. While the region predominantly yields abundant quantities of table grapes and other fruits, wine production remains relatively modest.
