Alentejo
Summary
An expansive yet sparsely populated region in southernPortugal, characterized by its vast plains, and gently rolling hills. A Mediterranean climate contributes to ripe grapes, and concentrated wines. Featuring both indigenous and international grapes. Best known for red wines, with full body whites, and Talha wines also found. Importantly, this region is also home to Quercus Suber trees whose bark is used for cork production.
